Born and raised in the East Village Rafael Barbosa has New York City DNA flowing through his veins. In 2014, he joined Compass and has gone on to build a full-service Team. Bringing a compelling skill set, Rafael is also a property owner and real estate investor in the Metropolitan area. His previous background as a loan officer contributes to his multi-dimensional understanding of both the financial and real estate sectors.

He is specifically known for his intuition, client service and his innate perseverance at successfully closing transactions. These include assisting first-time homebuyers, corporate relocations and foreign investments as well as the more traditional residential transactions. His many years in concert and event promotions have served to enhance his skills at packaging and negotiating complex real estate proceedings. He deeply believes in and actively utilizes the binary marketing innovations of technology / social media tools that Compass has introduced to the marketplace.

A proud Latino New Yorker, Rafael uses his bilingual skills to work with clients, landlords and foreign investors. Rafael graduated with honors with a B.A. in Marketing from SUNY Farmingdale. He spends time giving back to charities with the Child ID program as well as Toys for Tots for disabled students in Bronx schools. He saves his real passion for his two daughters, taking them to museums and, every now and then, going on a helicopter ride so Rafael can show them the city that he knows and loves so well.
